Come, visit and enjoy one of the few public parks on the shores of Hauser Reservoir. Black Sandy State Park is an extremely popular weekend boating, fishing, camping and water skiing location.
Boating, fishing, swimming, camping (electrical hookups are available May 1- November 30), picnicking, bicycling, and mountain biking are available.
Black Sandy State Park has 29 campsites with electricity and one tent site that can be reserved, and 5 tent sites without electricity that are first come-first served. Maximum trailer length is 35 ft. You can make reservations up to one day in advance of your arrival date. For same-day availability, try the park office—406-458-3221—to check if any sites are available for that night. There are also boat slips for rent on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is NO lifeguard on duty at Black Sandy State Park.
The park is 43 acres at an elevation of 3,835 feet.

Fees
Montana Residents
Montana residents who pay the $9 state parks fee with their annual vehicle registration have no daily entrance fees to state parks. For residents who don't include this in their vehicle registration, non-resident day use fees apply.
Nonresidents
Day use entrance fee with a vehicle: $8
Day use entrance fee as a walk-in, bicycle or bus passenger: $4
With a Nonresident Entrance Pass: Free
Campsites
Campsite fees range from $4-$34 per night, depending on season and available amenities.
AIS can be easily spread from one waterbody to the other. Anglers, boaters, construction workers, pond owners, gardeners, seaplane pilots, field workers - virtually anyone who works or plays in or around water can unknowingly transport these pests on their boats and equipment. It takes only one mistake to potentially infest a new water body.
Craig Putchat grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, and graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin with a degree in Outdoor Education and Outdoor Writing. Since college Craig has done many things, most notably, for 15 years before joining Montana State Parks, he owned and operated a sport shop, rental lodge, and charter fishing business on Lake Superior. Craig said, “I am excited to use my experience in dealing with the public to give visitors to the parks I manage a great visit, and leave them wanting to come back for more.“
