Where: Montana WILD Auditorium and Virtually via Zoom ONLY

FWP Regional Offices will be open and available to the public for those who do not have internet access.


Public Comment Opportunity 

Public comments were accepted on the following proposals through January 28, 2025 with final action to be taken at the February 13 meeting.

The decision before the commission on the administrative rulemaking petitions is whether or not to initiate rulemaking and start the MAPA process with the Secretary of State's office.  Public comment should be limited to either "support" or "oppose" the initiation of rulemaking.  If the commission votes to initiate rulemaking, the MAPA process will provide the platform for the public comment that will be included in the official record.

Public comment is always welcome during the Zoom meeting.  Registration to provide public comment via Zoom opened on January 29 and closed at Noon on February 12. 

Login information will be emailed to those who registered by Noon on Feb. 12.  The login information will be emailed on the morning of the meeting, February 13.

The public comment period on the following proposal ran through January 28, 2025, with final action at the February 13 commission meeting.  It should be noted that the only decision being requested of the Commission at this meeting is whether or not to initiate the MAPA process with the Secretary of State's office.

Note:

The commission may take action on all matters specifically noticed on any agenda.

Extensive opportunity is provided for public comment on hunting, fishing and trapping regulations. As a matter of equity for citizens who cannot attend commission meetings, when making final decisions on these regulations, the commission will not open public comment unless a significant amendment to the tentative proposal is brought forth by the commission or department. Comments will be limited to the amendment only.  Time for comment may be limited at the Chair's discretion.
